GALLEY: BART ROBERTS has a stainless steel galley, installed new to military/commercial specifications in 1986 and upgraded in 2001/2002. There is every conceivable appliance for producing hundreds of top quality meals daily in a galley that meets the requirements of the Center of Disease Control/U.S. Public Health for passenger vessels.

Besides the galley refigerator/freezers, there are 3 walk-in refrigerator/ freezers below.

ACCOMMODATIONS: BART ROBERTS is certified by SOLAS to carry up to 36 passengers. Her current configuration is for 20 guests in ten cabins, including a full width, forward facing master suite, just below the bridge, with four additional cabins on this deck and five cabins on the accommodation deck. All cabins are luxuriously appointed for double occupancy with adjoining heads and showers plus en suite entertainment systems.

BART ROBERTS accommodates the captain and three/five officers on the bridge deck level in private single cabins (captain’s cabin can accommodate a couple) plus up to 18 crew in the forepeak crew accommodations, making for a total of 25/25 crew.

Starting on BART ROBERTS’ upper level, above the bridge, is the newly created sun deck with a large whirlpool/Jacuzzi, a bar, seating and lounge area, plus a tremendous observation position above (50 feet /15.24 meters) above the sea level.

Moving down to the bridge deck level, there is the bridge/wheelhouse with a ship’s office and four officers’ cabins on this deck.

The next level down features the full width master suite forward with six windows and a door to a private “balcony” Portuguese bridge. The other four guest cabins on his level enjoy window views to port or starboard, including large windows in each bath.

Aft, and up ½ level to port of the hangar, is a SOLAS medical room in beautiful tile, including a sink and medicine cabinets, a shower and a multi-height massage table.

The main deck level, down one level from the master suite level, features crew mess forward via a separate entrance for the crew. The incredible galley/serving pantry, with all of its commercial grade equipment, is to port and a movie theatre/sound room to starboard.

The formal dining room, seating 20, is to port and two powder rooms are to starboard, along with a small pursuer’s office.

The gigantic salon is aft with a central forward seating area oriented around a 10 foot (3 m) stone fireplace with a 1700 vintage brass cannon as a mantle. To port is fish tank stocked with piranha, and, to starboard, a player Yamaha Grand piano, with a central dance floor aft and a large bar to starboard with seating to port. There is an open aft deck with seating and casual dining all the aft. This area is air conditioned/heated with 20 ton capacity to take the edge off either the heat or the cold. The next level down features five more guest cabins midship with the engine room aft and the cargo hold, stores, hull opening/boarding platform forward.

The final bilge level, in terms of guest services, includes a large gym with weights and exercise equipment, and the game room with pool table, casino, etc. BART ROBERTS’ forepeak is a crew area with nine double crew cabins, a crew entertainment area and a large commercial laundry below on the cargo hold level.

Other items of interest in the BART ROBERTS layout follow:
  1. Elevator to all decks
  2. Cargo hold that can accommodate all sort of cruising/water sports equipment, plus a 20’ (6 m ) container
  3. 25 ton, 75’ (23 m) reach crane to lift tenders and toys on board
  4. A 10’ x 20’ (3x6 m) swimming pool
  5. Moderate draft as opposed to a commercial conversion, which would restrict use to commercially dredged, commercial ports.
  6. A truly user friendly helicopter hangar, fully heated and air conditioned
  7. Commercial SOLAS approved for over 12 passengers
  8. Air Conditioned/heated open air aft deck seating/dining area

COMMENTS: BART ROBERS, true to her namesake BLACK BART, is not intimidated by
long treacherous passages, or inhospitable ports of call. With her ice strengthened hull, comes
security offshore or in coastal situations. All of her machinery is totally rebuilt or brand new and
with a dedicated spare parts room. As opposed to other commercial vessel conversions, with
drafts in excess of 20”/6.09 m, BART ROBERS, at just 12.5/3.81 m, is not comparably restricted
in her access. No vessel has better toy carrying capabilities, with a 30 ton crane to do the lifting and room for 3 x 50’ (15.24 m) tenders or nay combination of these lengths. The degree of thought that went into BART ROBERTS is evidenced by the knuckle crane aft which is ideally located to get gear into and out of the engine room and general stores room. The bottom line is that only a government agency (Canadian Coast Guard) could have afforded to totally rebuild BART ROBERTS IN 1986 for a sum of $20.0 million U.S. Today, with another multimillion dollar refit, BART ROBERTS is even better than before. She is virtually new and is certified by SOLAS to carry up to 36 passengers. This certification puts her in a very rare category only attained by cruise ships and much, much larger vessels.

NOTE: BART ROBERTS’ status is U.S. duty paid. All of her paperwork, in this regard, is in order.
